Tag and a Heart

I was recently tagged in my dear friend Bradie's blog! This is quite the honor, I've never done anything like this and I'm flattered that she tagged me. I am pretty new to this whole world of blogging, as is pretty evident in my total of 17 blog posts.  I like to think I'm getting better.  So, after my little post about my newest project, I will tell about myself and tag a few more people to do the same.

I have recently been in the mood to be making things, not just crochet, but anything.  I was shown this awesome website by a good friend of mine and I spent the next few days going through EVERY page of it and saving the projects that I liked the best.  I now have a folder on my desk top of hundreds of projects.  I will NEVER run out! And as oneprettything adds about 12-18 projects each day to choose from my choices will never get old either.  While going through each and every page, I came across a link to this great website and followed their instructions to make a little wreath for my door in preparation for Valentine's day.  It was very easy and very inexpensive to make.  I think it is adorable and I just hope it stays on the door, as it is literally hanging by a thread/piece of yarn.  Don't mind the chips in the paint and scratches on the door.  We are renting our little house and fixing up the door is the least of our worries!  I think the heart is cute and charming and it only took a few hours of wrapping yarn around and around a cardboard cutout of a heart.

Now for my answers!

1. if you have pets, do you see them as merely animals, or are they members of your family?
our pets, three cats, are most definitely members of our family.  They sleep and cuddle with us and we call them our children.  Even when Aly poops on the floor, or Vree tries to go out the window or Nim pulls down the garbage can to find a scrap of chicken fat or something I couldn't ever get imagine not having them.  They are absolutely members of our little family.

2. if you can have a dream to come true, what would it be?
a dream that I would love to have come true would be to be out of debt, to have a great house, and to have a baby.  basically my dream would be to skip a few years down the road and just be there already.

3. what is the one thing most hated by you?
this one is tricky.  I really don't like rude people.
4. what would you do with a billion dollars?
If I had a billion dollars I would pay off all of our debts, buy a house, put a ton into savings for our kids and for the rest of our lives, and I would travel the world.  I wouldn't do any of the chores around the house that I hate and I would read and make things all the time.  ahhhh if only.

5. what helps to pull you out of a bad mood?
a good hug usually brings me out of a bad mood.

6. which is more blessed, loving someone or being loved by someone?
i think that each is equally blessed but having both is the most blessed of all.

7. what is your bedtime routine?
I don't really have a bedtime routine.  I just go to bed when I'm tired,  some days it is earlier than others.  I just read or crochet until I'm too tired to do it and then I try to convince Eric that he is tired too. I'm definitely the one who likes to go to bed.  I think Eric would stay up all night if he could.

8. if you are currently in a relationship, how did you meet your partner?
we met through a long chain of events, but most simply, through friends.  We became friends before we ever started dating, although I secretly had a crush on him the whole time.  We dated long distance for almost two and a half years and then were engaged for six months.

9. if you could watch a creative person in the act of the creative process, who would it be?
probably my sister.  She is the most creative person I know.

10. what kinds of books do you read?
I read anything but I think my favorite books are fantasy.  I love being able to immerse myself completely into a world that is very different from our own.  I can completely disconnect myself from reality and just enjoy the story.  I think that fantasy books have a way of confronting issues that are happening in our world in a way that is not so obvious but helps us form opinions on the events that correlate with our own.

11. how would you see yourself in ten years time?
with a home and a family.  with a garden and possibly some chickens and bees.  I'm getting into this whole self sufficiency thing.

12. what’s your fear?
I hate spiders but beyond the fear of spiders is my fear of snakes.  Snakes are the most evil things in the world.  That and hippos.

13. would you give up all junk food for the rest of your life for the opportunity to visit outer space?

14. would you rather be single and rich or married, but poor?
i would rather be married but poor.  I'm already there and I wouldn't swap that for anything.

15. what’s the first thing you do when you wake up?
I stumble out of bed and into the bathroom to take a too hot shower to try to wake myself up for the day.

16. if you could change one thing about your spouse/partner what would it be?
no answer.
17. if you could pick a new name for yourself, what would it be?
I used to think that I would like to change my name but every time I tried to think of another name for myself nothing seemed to fit.  I'm a Kathleen through and through and I think I've gotten past not liking my name. It is definitely unique and I think it fits me.

18. would you forgive and forget no matter how horrible a thing that special someone has done?
that really depends on the person and their explanations.  the whole situation is relative.

19. if you could only eat one thing for the next 6 months, what would it be?

well... i'll have to go with chicken.  There are numerous ways to cook a chicken and because of that it would be hard to get bored of it.

Alright.  Now I will tag my mom, my sister Rachael, and my friend Breann
